Settling in. [23 Jan 2007|11:20pm] Well, so here we are. The job-interview went quite well - the headmaster, Etoile, is quite the charismatic man (note: severe bipolar, it shall be most intriguing to watch from a safe distance when that particular pendulum swings). I'm certain work here at Pencey's will be very stimulating and rewarding indeed; the darling children are just the right age to appreciate a friendly ear and a helping hand in their times of need. I feel confident I will truly come to enjoy my time here. I spoke briefly to one of the teachers, Mr. Szkarada (note: where to start, that messed-up psyche is a veritable smorgasboard of complexes and neuroses! We will need many, many sessions indeed together, I'm sure.) earlier, as the headmaster suggested I might want to... get to know not only the students, but the staff as well. Naturally my door is open to anyone and everyone. It's quite interesting how things turn out; I had not expected having to actually find mundane employment to make a living, but until the whole affair with poor dear Philip's life-insurance is settled, there seemed to be little choice. Despite my doubts, however, in the end I must admit I'm quite looking forward to my time here. So many lost young receptive minds in need of help... Yes. A very rewarding cause indeed. First day tomorrow. I do wonder who will be my first visitor? post comment
